Hiking
In the summer, the region is full of hikers, mountaineers and other alpinists. And no wonder: it is located amidst the most beautiful peaks in Tyrol. A view from a summit at nearly three thousand metres above sea level is guaranteed to be an experience for a lifetime.
With more than 90 hiking trails and via ferrata to the summits of the Wetterstein massif, the Ammergau Alps, the Lechtal Alps, the Mieminger massif and the king of the region itself – the Zugspitze (2,962 m) – there is something for everyone, from experienced and seasoned climbers to beginners and amateurs young and old.
A number of chair lifts and gondolas stay in operation during the summer as well. For families with children, a perfect chance to comfortably explore the mountains or enjoy the views from one of the many Alpine lodges.
